What is HLTA Maths & Science?
It is a new strand of the HLTA programme to enrich pupil learning by increasing the skills and knowledge of teaching assistants. It provides an opportunity for professional development and more effective deployment of teaching assistants in Maths and Science departments of secondary schools.

Who is organising HLTA Maths & Science training?
Local authorities are organising their own subject specialist training to suit the needs of candidates. These needs are defined by an initial audit. The local authority will then organise HLTA preparation and ELC assessment.
