All schools now employ teaching assistants (TAs) and many now have Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTAs). As a line manager of TAs this section will give you an understanding of what the HLTA programme can do for people working in your school.

It will show how you can support the TAs professional development, answer any questions you may have about the processes involved and show you some of the may success stories in the eastern region. It will also give you some information to share with colleagues in school so that there is a common understanding of how supporting TAs to become HLTAs can benefit the whole school community.
